Best in the North West! 

Teenage dancer Clara Burnie flew the flag for Colne Luther Greenwood Festival and won a top North West regional trophy.

Clara (pictured), from Burnley, won a crop of first prizes at Colne’s annual dance competition in May 2015 and was invited to represent the festival at the bi-annual North West regional championships organised by the British and International Federation of Festivals.

Some of the most talented young performers from an area stretching from Cheshire to Cumbria competed at Alderley Edge School for Girls, Cheshire, in September 2015 to represent their local festivals for music, speech and dance.

Clara went there with parents Glen and Amy and won the dance section with her ballet routine to earn a trophy, a medal and a cash prize of £100.

We have invited a pianist and a singer to represent our festival in the 2017 event in September at Penwortham, Preston, and we will invite a successful competitor from our dance competition in June, so let’s hope for another success!
